1. Explore Vaduz

With only 5,700 habitants, Vaduz is one of the smallest and calmest capitals in Europe

After a scenic drive through Switzerland, we finally arrived in Vaduz. To our surprise, parking on weekends is free! We strolled through the small city and enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmosphere of this charming capital. Vaduz has its own unique vibe, and here are a few things you should definitely do:

  1. National Museum: For CHF 10 (or CHF 13 with access to the treasure chamber), dive into the history, economy, and wildlife of this tiny country.
  2. Postal Museum: Discover the fascinating world of postal history and stamps – and it’s completely FREE!
  3. Art Museum: For CHF 15, immerse yourself in modern art in a stunning setting.
  4. Old Rhine Bridge: Admire the historic wooden bridge, a true testament to craftsmanship from a bygone era.
  5. Hike to Vaduz Castle: Treat yourself to a breathtaking view of the Alps as you make your way up to the castle.

Vaduz offers so much more than meets the eye – a perfect destination for those seeking peace, nature, and a unique atmosphere!

2. Head to Malbun

The ultimate winter experience

Malbun in winter is a true snowy paradise! Whether you’re into skiing, tobogganing, or simply enjoying a magical winter hike, Malbun has something for everyone!

As Liechtenstein’s premier ski resort, it offers an unforgettable experience for skiers of all levels. With 23 kilometers of well-maintained slopes and 7 lifts, there’s plenty of space to enjoy the snow. A day pass costs around CHF 52, but you can also opt for more affordable morning, afternoon, or half-day passes.

If you’re looking for a beautiful and easy hike, we highly recommend the Forscherweg: It’s a 1.4 km trail with a 150 m altitude gain, making it perfect for families and kids. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning mountain views and learn a few interesting facts about the area.

Pro tip: When the slopes are closed and the night sky takes over, step outside and look up. The stars above are an unforgettable sight!
